Expert Reviews

Silver & 91 Pts - Halliday Rating

A glossy opaque, the colour of this dense wine is striking, to say the least. The attack is anise and purple and blue fruits all, wrestling with a phalanx of of grapey, pulpy tannins. Strongly structured and forceful of personality, this is a take no prisoners wine of immense personality. - Ned Goodwin, 1 August 2018.

Winery Tasting Notes

Notes Image

Colour

Vibrant garnet colour with purple hues

Aroma

Notes of ripe plums, chocolate, almost reminiscent of black forest cake. Underlying notes of pot puri and hints of smoked meats

Palate

A wine of amazing intensity yet medium body elegance. Flavours of cherries and blueberries at the fore with a sweet spice undertone leading to long finish enveloped with beautifully fine chalky tannins.

Food

As a wonderful savoury wine it will complement succulent red meat dishes including game and also tomato based pasta
