Winery Tasting Notes

Tasting

Deep garnet in appearance with ruby red hues, the nose exhibits rich darks fruits and spice,

classic Central Victorian characters, dusty oak and cherry cola. Ripe juicy tannins accompany

the fruit and a mixture of blood plums, violets and Christmas pudding leave a warm and lasting

finish. Paired beautifully with chargrilled meats and game.

Winery Profile

Originally established in 1974 by Graeme Leith and Sue Mackinnon, Passing Clouds at Bendigo is in a low rainfall area and the site was chosen to make great red wine with the lowest chemical inputs possible. No pesticides or insecticides are ever used in the vineyard. These practices are followed in our new cool climate vineyard at Musk, just outside of Daylesford in the Macedon Ranges. It is currently producing stunning pinot, chardonnay and sparkling. The winery has consistently produced medal winning wines with deep colours, rich flavours and a unique structure with excellent mouthfeel that place them with the very best Australian red wines. For instance Graeme’s Blend 2005 rates 93 points in James Halliday’s Wine Companion.
