Winery Tasting Notes

Notes Image

Tasting

Deep ruby garnet in appearance, cassis and plums on the nose with subtle nuances of sweet and

savoury spice. Firm, grippy tannins speak to the handling of this wine and compliment these

unique Central Victorian Cabernet characters. The finish is long, heart-warming and gives a true

sense of place and time.

Winery Profile

Originally established in 1974 by Graeme Leith and Sue Mackinnon, Passing Clouds at Bendigo is in a low rainfall area and the site was chosen to make great red wine with the lowest chemical inputs possible. No pesticides or insecticides are ever used in the vineyard. These practices are followed in our new cool climate vineyard at Musk, just outside of Daylesford in the Macedon Ranges. It is currently producing stunning pinot, chardonnay and sparkling. The winery has consistently produced medal winning wines with deep colours, rich flavours and a unique structure with excellent mouthfeel that place them with the very best Australian red wines. For instance Graeme’s Blend 2005 rates 93 points in James Halliday’s Wine Companion.
