The vintage of 2020 was one of the smallest for many years, with several factors contributing to the lower crop. The vintage period was relatively trouble-free but concluded what was a very challenging season for grape growers.

Budburst occurred at close to the usual time. Early indication were for average to below average crop potential, based on the observed percentage bud burst, shoot fruitfulness and inflorescence size.

The very dry conditions over the post-harvest period and winter months are likely to have contributed to this early loss of potential.

The spring months were generally mild, with close to long term average temperature.
