Evans & Tate Hullabaloo Shiraz 2017 (6x 750mL) Margaret River

Description:

Fruit from our Shiraz vineyards in the warmer parts of the Margaret River region was used, as the variety

excels in these locations in terms of achieving balanced vine growth, intensely flavoured fruit and resultant

wine. The fruit was picked during the coolest part of the night to ensure it reached the winery in peak

condition. The fruit was de-stemmed, then cold soaked prior to fermentation, which helps to produce a fruit-driven, aromatic wine with a lush, soft texture. As it fermented, each batch was thoroughly aerated and the grape seeds were removed. The wine was then gently pressed and fermented a little longer, before maturation

in French oak barriques, hogsheads and puncheons for twelve to fourteen months. Each batch was then

carefully blended together and bottled.

Winery Tasting Notes

Notes Image

Colour

Intense purple-red with a black heart, typical of Shiraz.

Aroma

Ripe mulberry, black cherry and blood plum fruit with a perfumed lift.

Palate

An intensely fruit driven wine led by ripe mulberry and cherry flavours overlaid with earth,

peat, roasted spices and peppercorn that captivate the palate. Fine, silken tannins provide a

wonderful textural element.

Winery Profile

A passion to pursue paths untrodden has seen us explore the possibilities of modern winemaking. Pairing style with innovation, we are one of Western Australia's original winemakers, but we are also one of Western Australia's future winemakers.

While others persist with the current, we are willing to do things differently. We create timeless styles that you gravitate towards year after year through trust and familiarity. And in the spirit of unpredictability and intrigue, we create fresh, new styles that have an undeniable allure. Whether you're out dining with friends, enjoying a glass at home or need something special to celebrate with - we make wines that complement your lifestyle. And because we know they taste great, you can be assured that our wines will reflect your great taste.

Our wines are made for you, not winemakers. We love to engage you with our ability to surprise and we want our wines to inspire your own story, your own moments. Because at Evans & Tate, we believe the possibilities are endless.

The winery has a growing international presence and can be found in 14 countries across the world. At home, Evans & Tate is the number one Margaret River producer by value (Nielsen MAT 31/3/2010) and was recently named a five star winery in James Halliday's 2011 Wine Companion.
