Winery Tasting Notes

Colour

The colour is deep burgundy red with crimson flashes and a carmine edge. The relatively high alcohol leaves long “legs” coating the glass.

Aroma

The bouquet is classic Barossa Shiraz, sweet and rich with earthy spices and toasty oak. There’s mushroom and truffle with smoky bacon and star anise tempting the palate for the first taste.

Palate

The palate opens with dark berry fruit flavours followed by the savoury characters of ground coffee, mocha and olive tapenade. As the wine opens up with time there’s licorice, cedar wood and roast coffee. Generous, rounded tannins with spicy oak and a background of dried herbs, pepper and cloves deliver a complex, well balanced finish and long aftertaste, a wine to enjoy with your favourite cuisine or on its own.

Food Matching

This is a universal wine suitable for any occasion or richly flavoured cuisine. From the family barbeque to the teppanyaki hot plate this wine will add pleasure to your dining experience. Genuine and honest, I’m proud to serve these wines in any company.

Cellaring Potential

Like all my wines, this Shiraz has been released ready to drink and is also made to handle further cellar maturation. It will continue to evolve and soften with time but will remain enjoyable for many years.
