The grapes were hand picked in mid autumn, then crushed, fermented, basket pressed then aged for 24 months in oak barrels. This Shiraz exhibits hints of Eucalypt, blackberry, pepper and chocolate. This full bodied wine drinks well now and will continue to improve with age.

Springton Hills Wines Rockridge Eden Valley Shiraz 2015
The name Rock Ridge comes from a spine of metamorphic rock that cuts through our vineyard.
Aroma
This Shiraz is deep and dark with a strong bouquet of dark berry fruit, anise and a hint of Eucalypt.
Palate
This wine is balanced in fruit, tannins, acids and oak.
Springton Hills Winery is a small boutique winery where all wines are produced on the estate in our purpose built winery. All wines are made from fruit grown on the property which was planted by the owners progessively from 2001.
Springton hills wines is owned and run by the Ciccocioppo family who prides itself on the integration of the traditional wine making process with current practices.
The two main varieties grown at Springton Hills Wines are Shiraz and Riesling. The other varieties grown are Chardonnay, Cabernet, Grenache and a very new variety to Australia called Montepulciano, which coincidentally comes from the same region in Italy where the owner/wine maker was born – Abbruzzo.
In the short period the Springton Hills wines has been established it has been awarded some fantastic accolades. Amongst prize winning wines from the Sydney International wine shows to the Barossa wine shows. Top reviews from wine state magazine and the James Halliday 2011 wine companion awarding the winery top accolades with a 5 star rating and naming it as one of 10 new wineries in Australia.
