Trust Crystal Hill White blend 2016 (6 x 750mL) Central Victoria

Description:

Maturation/Winemaking

Processed using a one hundred year old one tonne wooden basket press we do not separate free run juice from the pressings. The overall effect of this rustic hands on small batch wine making approach is a certain textural palate effect that complements the richness of the fruit.

Vineyards

The Savagnin is sourced from Don’s own vineyard, Crystal Hill, on the banks of the Goulburn River. Staked vines grown in particularly gravelly quartz rich soils while the other three varieties are sourced around the Nagambie Lakes region of the Goulburn Valley, Central Victoria.

Central Victoria experienced the quickest vintage on record (approximately four weeks). A large rain event in early January with dry and windy conditions followed preventing any major disease outbreaks. Logistically it was challenging with all varieties ripening together resulting in a shortage of trucks, bins and fermentation space was the main issue. Quality was good despite these difficulties.
