McGuigan Bin 9000 Semillon 2016 (6 x 750mL) Hunter Valley, NSW

Description:

The McGuigan Bin Semillon is our most awarded wine. It is a perfect example of why the Hunter Valley is renowned as the premier region for Semillon in the world. This true Hunter style Semillon is a fresh light wine when young, then develops rich honey and toast characters with extended cellaring.

The growing season was benevolent right up until January when the rain arrived. This could have been a major issue, but most of the fruit for this wine comes off 70+ year old vines which, due to the open nature of the canopy, seem to be resistant to disease pressure. Fruit was able to slowly ripen and had intense floral characters at harvest.
