Description:

While tasting the grapes in the vineyard during the growing season we were especially impressed by the structure and varietal expression of the fruit. Too good to pass up we purchased a small parcel. In the winery we handled the fruit gently to ensure retention of the primary fruit flavours without imparting any harsh flavours. The Wine is pale straw in colour and has a bright fresh structure from excellent natural acid retention. The wine has flavours of freshly cut pineapple and green apples. Perfect for hot weather shared with good friends.

The Limestone Coast has a continental climate with considerable winter rainfall. During the growing season typically the days are bright and sunny with a significant drop in temperature during the nights. the 2015 vintage benefited from these cooler nights ensuring slow ripening of the fruit and that the white varieties retained excellent natural acidity and punchy aromatics.

The fruit for this wine was sourced from Wirrega Vineyards in the northern part of South Australia’s picturesque Limestone Coast wine region. This region is characterised by it’s relative flat landscape that is made from the remnants of ancient coastal dunes and swamp networks.
