200-180 MILLION YEARS B.P. PLESIOSAUR RIBS AND SCAPULAR BIFACIAL FOSSIL FROM THE JURASSIC PERIOD
- An Extremely Well Preserved Jurassic Period (200-180 Million Years B.P.) Plesiosaur (Marine Dinosaur) Ribs And Scapular Bifacial Fossil Contained Within An Amorphous Matrix.
- These Particular Fossilized Bone Fragments Remains Intact With Exceptional Detail.
- The Plesiosauria Or Plesiosaurs Are An Order Of Extinct Mesozoic Marine Reptiles, Belonging To The Sauropterygia.
- Plesiosaurs First Appeared In The Latest Triassic Period, Possibly In The Rhaetian Stage, About 203 Million Years Ago.
- They Became Especially Common During The Jurassic Period, Thriving Until Their Disappearance Due To The Cretaceous–Paleogene Extinction Event At The End Of The Cretaceous Period.
- About 66 Million Years Ago, They Had A Worldwide Oceanic Distribution, And Some Species At Least Partly Inhabited Freshwater Environments.
- Plesiosaurs Had A Broad Flat Body And A Short Tail. Their Limbs Had Evolved Into Four Long Flippers, Which Were Powered By Strong Muscles Attached To Wide Bony Plates Formed By The Shoulder Girdle And The Pelvis.
- The Flippers Made A Flying Movement Through The Water. Plesiosaurs Breathed Air, And Bore Live Young; There Are Indications That They Were Warm-Blooded.
- Dated To Circa. 200-180 Million Years B.P. (Before Present) (Jurassic Period).
- Size: 145mm x 110mm x 45mm

- Invoices totalling less than $10,000 will be automatically debited from the card nominated within your account
- Invoices totalling in excess of $10,000 can be paid in-person at any Grays office
- 1.5% surcharge applies to PayPal transactions
- Only accepted for invoices totalling less than $10,000 where elected as your preferred payment method within your account
- For invoices totalling in excess of $10,000. Payment must be made in full within two business days of the auction closing.
