  • A Very Rare Opportunity To Own An Important Piece Of Ancient History From The 30BC-323AD Roman-Egypt Era.
  • This Early Scaraboid Plaque Has Been Hand-Carved From A Precious Blue Stone And Features An Engraved Depiction Of The Face Of The Ancient Egyptian God, Bes.
  • Scaraboids Such As This Are Are A Form Of Seal Amulets Related To Scarab Amulets, That Are Similar In Shape But Do Not Include The Beetle`s Anatomy.
  • Scaraboid Is A Term Used By Egyptologists To Describe These Rare Artifacts.
  • Bes Is An Ancient Egyptian Deity Worshipped As A Protector Of Households And, In Particular, Of Mothers, Children, And Childbirth.
  • Bes Later Came To Be Regarded As The Defender Of Everything Good And The Enemy Of All That Is Bad.
  • It Is Believed That The Cult Of Bes Did Not Become Widespread Until The Beginning Of The New Kingdom, But More Recently Several Bes-Like Figures Have Been Discovered In Deposits From The Naqada Period Of Pre-Dynastic Egypt.
  • Worship Of Bes Spread As Far North As The Area Of Syria And As Far West As The Balearic Islands (Ibiza) In Spain, And Later Into The Roman And Achaemenid Empires.
