Our Cabernet Merlot is Temple Bruer’s first preservative free wine, and is still our most loved. It was first produced in 1999 as a challenge from Barbara to David Bruer to create delicious, organic, and preservative

free wines.

The fruit of this wine benefited from organic cultivation in the warmer climate of Riverland, resulting in early ripening and vibrant fruit flavors. In 2022, we saw high-quality fruit and low to moderate yields with excellent natural acidity from an overall cool vintage.

Our philosophy is to produce quality wines that maximise enjoyment and minimise impact.

Temple Bruer was founded back in the 1970’s on the banks of the Angas River. From a small planting of vines to start with, the company now owns three vineyards in different regions within South Australia. With a strong desire to look after the environment the vineyards and winery became certified organic. This means that there are no artificial herbicides, fertilisers or pesticides used at any stage of the growing or winemaking process. Adding to this ethos the company has also become carbon neutral, sequestering all the carbon that it produces.
