Several batches from the Glenkara Vineyard, matured in French and American oak for 15 months. The palate is light to medium-bodied, and has clear varietal character. The price is inexplicable - double it and I wouldn't complain. - James Halliday, 17 June 2021.

The wine is has a bright ruby shine with characteristic brick­red rim.

Dark cherry fruit aromas, accompanied by lifted oriental spice and hints of sun­baked brick.

The spiciness is carried through to the palate, where very spicy, chocolatey flavours run through the wine from beginning to end.

Established in 1984 by the infamous restauranteur LeonMassoni and legendary winemaker Ian Homes, founder of Yellowglen. In 1996-2000with the assistance of the Ursini family, we established the GlenKara Estatevineyard in the Victorian Pyrenees Ranges, boasting the largest vineyard in theregion (269ha). In 2006, we purchased the Mt Eliza Estate vineyard (8.9ha) onthe Mornington Peninsula.

Currently, all wines are made at the Dromana winery. Massonispecializes in making wines that stand the test of time. With many of ourPyrenees wines being released with 2-3 years of bottle age.

Over the last 19 years, we have focused on making wines thatour clients want to enjoy with their family and friends.
