Anon Sauvignon Blanc 2018 (6x 750mL) Tasmania

Description:

VINTAGE NOTES

The 2018 growing season had excellent Winter and Spring rainfall, this was accompanied by quite cool temperatures. A mild summer was followed by a long and sunny autumn allowing fruit flavours to develop slowly yet fully.

WINEMAKING NOTES

At harvest the Sauvignon Blanc grapes show wonderfully intense varietal expression and natural acidity. Vineyard parcels were fermented separately with carefully selected yeast strains. Further maturation on lees for three months prior to bottling has created pleasing palate weight and texture.

Winery Tasting Notes

Notes Image

Colour:

Pale straw turning toward light gold.

Nose:

Citrus pith, preserved lemon and white grapefruit with chalky/flinty “aged Sancerre” vibes; cut hay

Palate:

The primary fruit has eased back, revealing a savoury, mineral core. Crisp, tightly held acidity (screwcap doing its job after almost 7yrs ) drives lemon/quince, a touch of fennel and oyster-shell salinity.

Finish:

Clean, dry and mouth-watering with pithy phenolics and a flinty snap.

Serve & cellaring:

8–10 °C; no need to decant, but 10 minutes in glass helps. Drinking beautifully now; don’t expect 2024 freshness.

Food match:

Goat’s cheese salad, oysters/natural, grilled asparagus with lemon butter.

Medals & Trophies

SILVER - China Wine & Spirit Awards 2019 & 20

BRONZE – Tas Wine Show 2020
