Sandalford Winemakers Rose 2022 (12 x 750mL) Swan Valley

Description:

The Story

The Winemakers Range is all about delivering quite simply the best Western Australian wine at the best price. These wines are typically a blend of both the Margaret River and Swan Valley wine growing regions. The riper, richer notes from the Swan Valley compliment the elegant and sophisticated flavours from the cooler climate of Margaret River. These wines are about imminent drinkability and crafted to suit a wide range of food. Or simply enjoy a chilled glass on its own. As always, enjoy in moderation.

Vintage

2022 was dry and hot. The preceding winter and spring rainfall were above average and provided ample ground moisture for the vines to cope with the heat extremes of the summer. Fruit ripened to plan and was harvested with ripe, fresh flavours.

Winemakers Blurb

This wine was made from Merlot fruit grown on the Sandalford Estate property. Machine harvested fruit was picked in the cool of the night and delivered to the winery for processing. Following destemming, the must was chilled and received a few hours skin contact before pressing to tank. Only the free run portion of the juice

was utilised for fermentation in stainless steel tanks. The finished wine was then given a light fining and filtration before bottle. Well suited to a wide range of foods, or simply enjoy on its own.

Red 5 Star Winery James Halliday, Austarlian Wine Companion 2011 Edition

"RED 5 STAR WINERY – Sandalford is an outstanding winery regularly producing wines of exemplary quality and typicity.”

Australia’s most pre-eminent wine critic, James Halliday, awards Sandalford Wines the very coveted RED 5 star rating in the Australian Wine Companion 2011 Edition.

Sandalford Wines was established in 1840 and is today privately owned by the Prendiville family.

In the early 1970’s Sandalford was one of the pioneers in establishing vineyards in the Margaret River planting 96 hectares in the sub region of Wilyabrup. It is this old, dry grown vineyard that is the source of the Prendiville Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon and the Estate Reserve range of wines. These wines under the winemaking expertise of Paul Boulden are superb examples of Margaret River at its best, winning praise from notable wine writers and a series of trophies and gold medals at both national and international wine shows.

A new addition to the Sandalford portfolio is the Margaret River Range of wines positioned at the “midprice point” of today’s premium market. It is the fastest growing segment of the wine market and with Sandalford’s world class resources in Margaret River, this range has been developed to tap into this consumer trend. The wines are sourced from a combination of the Sandalford Estate and other premium vineyards in the Margaret River with wine styles reflecting current consumer tastes for vibrant, up front varietal flavours.
