Winery Tasting Notes

Colour

The colour is deep burgundy red with subtle mahogany notes and cherry red edges.

Aroma

The bouquet is sweet and rich with earthy spices delivering complexity and sophistication. Sweet alcohol lifts the toasty oak aromas followed by dark chocolate and brandied fruit pudding notes.

Palate

The palate opens with subtle black currant fruit on entry then builds with earthy herbs, mushrooms and olives. An assertive wine with plump juicy tannins and spicy oak it has a background of dusty pepper and spice. Balanced and long on the finish, it has a velvety texture and chocolaty aftertaste.

Food Matching

This is a big wine with a velvety sophistication. Slow cooked lamb shanks, thick juicy steaks and rich roast duck are excellent food pairings while firm cheeses and water crackers are ideal after the meal.

Cellaring Potential

This is a solid, rounded wine with lovely mature characters and is ready to drink now. Its pedigree will ensure delicious drinking for many years to come.
