McGuigan Short List Shiraz 2006 (6 x 750mL) Barossa Valley, SA

Description:

The fruit for this shiraz was picked at full ripeness to ensure optimal flavour. The warm climate and rich soils of the low lying Barossa Valley are perfectly suited to producing the highest quality shiraz grapes. After harvesting the fruit was crushed and fermented in ten tonne open vats at low temperatures for 7-10 days (we are one of the few wineries that still utilise the old style open fermenters). The wine was then pressed and underwent malo-lactic fermentation in new American and French oak Hogsheads. The final step was to mature the wine for a further 16 months before bottling. Each bottle of this limited release, special batch wine is individually numbered.
