Les Caves St Ronain Puy Chanteroc 2018 (6 x 750mL), Cotes du Rhone AOC

Description:

The Rhone Valley is the second largest vineyard in France in terms of the volume of wine production and is also one of the oldest vineyards in France. The Rhodanian vineyard is a world apart. From terraces to steep flanks, it plays with the green hills. However, we can speak of Rhodanian vineyards as the Rhone Valley diversifies along the river. Following the northern coasts that extend from Vienna to Valencia on granite slopes, the main grape varieties are Syrah for red wines and for white wines viognier or roussanne and marsanne. As for the southern coasts stretching from Montélimar to Avignon, the vines take up all the space on rather limestone soils with a multiplicity of grape varieties, the grenache playing the role of the main grape variety for red wines, the clairette and the bourboulenc for white wines. The most famous wines are for red wines, Côte-Rôtie, Crozes-Hermitage and Châteauneuf-du-Pape, and for white wines, Condrieu and Clairette de Die.
