"This single block wine comes from bluestone slate ground, which no doubt gives a certain individual character. Tricky to pinpoint in some ways, though much of the please here is in a fleshy, squishy plum feel from start to finish – I get blue-skinned plum with some oak spice adding fortitude and earthiness through the palate. There’s a seductive, sun-kissed fruit swelling here in a dense, full-bodied maze of flavours and feels, and even with all its ripeness and richness it compelled me to drink it all in and enjoy it immensely. Winery Tasting Notes

Impenetrable inky black colour with an equally deep dark red black hue. Potent aromas of aniseed and liquorice allsorts jump out of the glass followed by black plum, smoky vanillin cedar, fennel, light earth and spice. Rich, decadent liquorice, black cherry and black plum fruits completely drench the palate with lightly smoked vanillin cedar, fennel and spicy earth characters sitting underneath. Dense and voluptuous in its mouthfeel with a silky tannin structure. Superb power with a long lavish aftertaste.

Winery Profile

Established in 1978, Greenock Creek is a tiny 'boutique' Barossa winery with a production level of only 2500 cases per year, owned by Michael and Annabel Waugh. These wines, fashioned from old, low-yielding vineyards, have accumulated quite a reputation.

Greenock Creek Wines is built on strong foundations and represents a style and approach to Barossa winemaking, that has been respected and revered for nearly 40 years.
