Winery Tasting Notes

COLOUR

Deep crimson with garnet hues at the rim.

NOSE

Bright and fruit driven, showing ripe raspberry and plum with hints of cracked pepper and subtle spice.

PALATE

Juicy red and dark berries unfold across the palate, framed by gentle spice and fine, silky tannins. Hints of mulberry and dried herbs add complexity, while a touch of mocha and savoury warmth carries through a smooth, lingering finish.

The 2022 Clare Valley vintage provided exceptional conditions with cooler February temperatures, enhancing varietal expressions. The vineyard's sandy loam and clay, overlaying sedimentary rocks contribute moisture and minerals, resulting in a plush and smooth wine with fine character and palate length. Each fruit parcel reached peak maturity, undergoing fermentation in small open fermenters. Postfermentation, Grenache and Mourvèdre portions matured in oak barrels to softened tannins, while Shiraz retained its youth in tank. The GSM blend combines youthful structure for immediate enjoyment and longevity in the years ahead.
