Byrne Reserve Shiraz 2021 (12x 750mL) Clare Valley

Description:

The 2021 Clare Valley vintage enjoyed cooler-than-average temperatures, providing ideal ripening conditions. The extended, mild season allowed the fruit to fully develop its flavours while maintaining elegance and purity. The vineyard’s sandy loam soils over alluvial clay and sedimentary rock provided excellent drainage and vital minerals during fruit growth. Shiraz grapes underwent a 10-day fermentation in stainless steel open

fermenters, with daily pump-overs to intensify color and flavours. Following primary fermentation, the wine was transferred to seasoned French and American oak barrels for malolactic fermentation, then aged for 18 months in the barrels.

COLOUR

Deep ruby red with a rich scarlet hue.

NOSE

Rich aromas of toasted mocha and dark fruits, complemented by layers of hickory, nutmeg and dark chocolate.

PALATE

The palate unfolds with layers of cinnamon and ripe berry fruits, gracefully complemented by cracked pepper and delicate aniseed. A perfect harmony of oak and fruit leads to a long, smoky hickory finish, leaving a lasting impression of elegance and depth.

FOOD MATCH
