Since its foundation, Le Brun de Neuville has built itself around a history of men and women: the families of winegrowers, with a common desire to equip themselves with effective tools, so that their knowledge — combined with the rich product of their terroir — enables them to produce Champagnes of the highest quality.

The Le Brun family resides by the village of Bethon, close to the town of Sézanne in the Marne. The memory of Madame Le Brun, who owned the castle in 1845, is still alive today. The house Le Brun de Neuville inherits its name thanks to the action of the noble heiress of the Château de Bethon, Madame de Reviers, one of the founders of the House.

The vineyard Le Brun de Neuville is spread over 150 hectares, of which the majority has been planted for over 30 years on the undulating slopes of the Sézannais. Its vineyard is planted predominantly in Chardonnay, which represents 88% of the total. The Pinot Noir accounts for 11% and the Meunier just 1% of the vines. The supplies of Champagne Brun de Neuville come exclusively from the vines of its members.

Winery Tasting Notes

This wine shows a tinted gold/yellow/light green colour with strong lemon yellow tones. The first nose is a floral farandole with honeysuckle, white rose and wallflowers, together with hints of candid lemon, bergamot and toasted bread. When aerated, it turns towards notes of blackcurrant, biscuit, wet chalk, raspberry, and peach. The approach in the palate is soft and fresh with a creamy and melted effervescence.

The wine develops in a gentle and pulpy way, reminiscent of white, red, and black fruit, displaying a chalky minerality, a creamy texture, and an elegant patina. The finish is rich, with fruity, floral and Viennese pastry notes that reinforce the sensation of tenderness and fusion.

We take the time to individually inspect each bottle and photograph it so you know exactly what you are buying. All Private Cellar wine stored at GraysOnline is kept in a temperature controlled wine storage area. Any wine that doesn’t meet our quality standards will not be sold.

Wines displaying a 5 star designation are recognised as being of proven quality provenance, our team has verified that the wine has been stored correctly from original purchase straight from the winery, documentation, where possible, has been sighted and cellaring conditions have been inspected. This wine generally comes from only the best and most respected of wine collectors in Australia.

Wines displaying a 4 star designation have been cellared correctly as verified by the current owners. In general these wines have been purchased from retailers or traders and stored in cellared conditions from original purchase.

Wines displaying a 3 star designation are in good condition when we inspect and we are able to confirm some cellaring conditions but we are unable to verify all ownership and storage conditions of their history.

A wine displaying no stars doesn’t mean that there is a problem with the wine, it simply means that we have been unable to verify provenance, however a quality image is always available for the purchaser to make their own purchasing decisions.

Private Cellar wine is wine which has been stored for aging purposes in a Private Cellar.

Storing the wine and allowing it to age has the potential to improve the quality of the wine. While wine is perishable and capable of deteriorating, storing the wine can alter the aroma, colour, mouthfeel and taste of the wine in a way that may be more pleasing to the taster.
