Fraser McKinley has worked with shiraz from the epic Hoffmann vineyard since the wine's inception in 2007. The Little Wine is a multi-vintage assemblage from 2022 (49%), 2021 (23%), 2020 (11%), 2019 (8%), 2018 (1%), 2017 (4%), 2016 (2%) and 2015 (2%). As always with Fraser's wines, the fruit purity is stunning. Ripe, textural and spice-laden. Macerated satsuma plum, black cherry and blackberry, panforte, pressed flowers, dark spice, liminal mountain herbs and charcuterie. There is a beautiful flow and density to the fruit here, toothsome, layered and concentrated but fresh in the mouth with fine gravelly tannins as its base. Detail is the key here, the wine finishing long and true. Dave Brookes, 18 January 2024.

Sourced from our six treasured plots within the Hoffmann’s ‘Dallwitz’ vineyard from vines planted in 1996, 1995, 1994, 1960, 1927 & the oldest vines planted prior to 1912.
