Expert Reviews

97 Pts - James Suckling - December 2, 2019 Quite extraordinary depth and richness here with profound aromas of blackberries, dark chocolate, blood plums, espresso and baking spices. The plushness of the palate is phenomenal. So smooth, silky and perfectly balanced. A show-stopper. 97 Points; Mike Bennie; The Wine Front Textural glory, sumptuous detail, a svelteness that draws in all that fruit, spice, earth, sweetness, savouriness and sense of young and old material. Kaleidoscopic flavour, exceptional length of ripe dark berry fruit, briary herbal detail and very fine-feeling red-earthy, slightly ferrous tannin shaping the wine and extending it incredibly. The bouquet is so enticing; pot pourri strong in dried rose petal, faint game meat, old leather and spice cupboard, wild forest berries on briar – true perfume. So much to say, so very, very good. You’d say it’s a more substantial Little Wine, but loses none of its energy and sheer delight. Date: Jan 2020; Alcohol: 14.1%; Closure: Cork; Drink: 2020-2035
