Description

UNC 2020 $2 75th Anniversary The End of WW2 Dove two Dollar coloured Coin

  • UNC 2020 $2 75th Anniversary The End of WW2 Dove two Dollar coloured Coin Queen
  • In commemoration of the 75th Anniversary of the end of World War II, particularly marked by the Japanese surrender, the Peace Coloured Two Dollars coin serves as a poignant tribute to the hopeful dawn that emerged after the conflict. This significant coin encapsulates the essence of both optimism for the future and profound recognition for the sacrifice of Australian lives during the war.
  • The coin`s design intricately weaves together four main elements, offering a visual narrative of the battleground against Imperial Japan. At the heart of the design, a map of the South East Pacific and Asia region sets the historical context. Dominating the center is a three-color circular motif symbolizing the collective strength of the Army, Navy, and Air Force. Within this motif, a 7-pointed star emerges, representing both the Commonwealth and the stars featured on Mother’s and Widow’s Badges—a powerful nod to the families affected by the war.
  • The central imagery is further enriched by the inclusion of the Dove of Peace, gracefully carrying an olive branch in its beak. This emblematic dove symbolizes the aspiration for lasting peace and serves as a poignant reminder of the shared global commitment to preventing further conflict.
  • Below the circular motif, the designer`s initials, TD (Tony Dean), stand as a testament to the artistic vision behind this meaningful representation. Completing the design, the inscription ``75 YEARS - END OF SECOND WORLD WAR`` graces the space above left, commemorating the passage of time since the war`s conclusion and honoring the enduring legacy of those who played a role in securing peace.
