The nose exudes a lovely aroma of fresh redcurrants and raspberries, with a patina of fine oak. Refreshing, with clean and pure flavours following through to a rich and sweet red & black fruit ending. Nicely balanced alcohol and acidity. This wine shows intense fruit flavours and is very long on the finish. A worthy winner. "

Winery Profile

Owner Kym Tolley describes himself as a fifth-generation winemaker,the family tree involving both the Penfolds and the Tolleys. He worked 17 years in the industry before establishing Penley Estate and has made every post a winner since, producing a succession of rich, complex, full-bodied red wines and stylish Chardonnays. These are made from precious estate plantings. A welcome return to form with the ’08 and ’09 reds.
