Thomson Estate Limestone Cliffs Semillon Sauvignon Blanc 2023 (12x 750mL)

Description:

In 1838 Walter Thomson, with wife Jane, arrived in Australia and established a winemaking

tradition. Faithful to his approach, our estate grown parcels are carefully tended by our vignerons

to create wines of great intensity.

In South Australia we have long days of sunshine and a pristine climate with vineyards on top of

limestone soils for premium grape growing. These soils are visible in the Limestone Cliffs along

the banks of the river Murray providing a majestic display at sunset.

Zesty tropical fruits of lifted passionfruit and peach are refreshing and persistent. Served well

chilled as the sun goes down.

WINEMAKING

The 2023 vintage was much cooler than average, reaching far into April. These conditions

allowed the fruit to slowly and gently ripen, allowing the wines to display vibrancy and style. A

good year for bright colours and intense aromas. Fermentation was slow at a low temperature to

capture the subtle aromatics of the Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc then the separate parcels were

put together to give the best varietal blend. The result is a stunning display of lifted varietal

expression.

Pale yellow with youthful green edges.

Nicely lifted aromas of fresh quince and green apple, with loquat blossom notes.

Juicy and inviting, it delivers ample flavours of pear, custard apple and grapefruit. A lively
