Faithful to his approach, this Private Selection was carefully made in the classic Australian style. The

high altitude northern range of the cool and picturesque Clare Valley provides finesse and delicate

power to our mature vines.

The 2021 vintage experienced a gentle ripening period, resulting

in an elegance and purity of fruit characters. The Clare Valley

vineyard has sandy loam combined with some clay overlying

alluvial sedimentary rocks, providing a source of moisture and

minerals to the vines as fruit develops. This culminates in a wine

of profound richness and flavor, exuding a robust and layered

profile with remarkable depth and palate length.

Winery Tasting Notes

COLOUR

Inky red with purple edges.

NOSE

Complex bramble and dark fruit aromas seamlessly intertwine

with spicy hints of sage, rosemary, and dried herbs. Subtle notes

of vanilla oak provide an elegant frame for the fruit.

PALATE

Vibrant red and black fruit flavors, accompanied by spicy notes

of pepper, licorice and herbs, precede a medium-ripe tannic

structure and gentle acidity. The wine's enduring fruit presence

on the palate is a testament to the exceptional quality grapes

harvested from the northern reaches of the Clare Valley.

FOOD MATCH

Beef osso buco with parmesan polenta, or roast lamb with sweet

potato mash and vegetables.
