Winery Tasting Notes

Notes Image

Known as a curio style, this Frontignac based fortified wine, with about ten years average age, is more akin to a Spanish sherry blending component rather than a finished wine. It has obvious rancio with that giveaway olive green khaki colour on the edge. An attractive nose showing developed aromas of coffee, caramel, burnt fig and chocolate is balanced against a fine spirit-drying finish. The palate is complex and aged with good weight. It shows some developed rancio style Muscat characters, balanced sweetness and a smooth, lengthy and dry finish.
