82% Riverina, 12% Tumbarumba, 6% King Valley

Vineyard

75% Estate grown fruit. De Bortoli Nericon block planted in late 90's & De Bortoli vineyard in King Valley planted early 2000’s. Coppabella Vineyard Tumbarumba planted 1993.

Season

A dry winter followed by moderate rains in late spring and early summer enabled vines to produce a healthy crop of fruit. A dry harvest period ensured no disease & optimum ripening conditions. Producing very pure wines with good varietal expression and flavour.

Tasting Note

Light to medium straw in colour. Complex white peach, grilled nuts & citrus aromas. Textural, creamy palate with a fine acid finish.

Winemaking

Fruit is harvested at night, pressed and left to settle until the next day. Some of the juice is pressed straight to barrel for a natural ferment. Warm fermentation & extended lees contact help give a wine full of flavour and texture. No preservatives such as SO2 are added until bottling. 24% of wine has gone through MLF naturally in barrel. 90% of the blend is fermented in old French oak barriques & Hogs Heads. No new oak is used. Wine is then left in barrel to mature on yeast lees for 12 months with minimal stirring.
