Expert Reviews

Pale and bright lemon hue. Lemon, wax, and roast spices on the nose. Citrus fruit and nutty spices fill the palate, there’s a medium weight and intensity through the core whilst acidity and a hint of phenolics brings focus and drive to the finish. An intriguing wine that offers great value. Score: 91/100.

"Very light, bright yellow-straw colour, the bouquet flowery and almost riesling-like, while the palate is soft and fruity, not totally bone-dry but balanced for immediate drinking charm. It's floral in the mouth too and the riesling-like flavour drives the wine. A really delicious young white wine. 90/100."

Expressive nose showing spiced pears, juicy acidity, saltiness and mineral. Persistent, textural and wickedly drinkable.

Their son, the energetic and dynamic Deen De Bortoli, (b 1936 – d 2003) expanded and consolidated the business created by his parents. Deen's children established De Bortoli's reputation for premium wine including icon dessert wine Noble One and the Yarra Valley wines.

Italian family values passed down from Vittorio remain core values, there is a culture of hard work, generosity of spirit and of sharing good food, good wine and good times with family and friends.

"Delicate aromas and nicely textured flinty minerally palate with lingering musky white fruit flavours. 92 points."

Winestate Magazine July 2022

"Light, bright yellow-straw colour, the bouquet savoury and complex, with nutty and lemon-pith aromas and some creamy lees influence. Light to medium-bodied, with a twist of sweetness on the early to middle-palate. A very appealing and accessible young wine. 90/100"

The Real Review March 2022

"Part of the fun, but with serious intent, Grenache Wizardry range, this fruit comes from the north of the Heathcote region in Colbinabbin. Full nose with thick pear flesh, ground salt crystals, “Parmesan” rind, lemon chunks, steel and white root vegetables. Medium bodied with a cotton sheet like texture, keen spice and plenty of dry, savoury personality. Cool vintage night crisp acidity comes as a coda. A textural surprise packet." Rating: 17.5/20 (90/100)
