In 2015 we made the decision to create our Vintage Brut Rosé wine exclusively from our estate vineyards in Strathbogie, Whitlands and the Yarra Valley. Having full control over all the fine details of our vineyards, block by block, row by row, gives us the precision and best expression of Australian sparkling wine grapes. Layer all this with our French heritage and know-how, and it becomes possible to produce a vintage release which shows the personality of each season, all within the Chandon Maison style.

Winery Tasting Notes

Pale pink, with peach skin hues and very fine bubbles. Classic Pinot Noir stone fruit aromas, peach and background cranberry notes in the foreground, in the background fresh dough and biscuit characters derived from long yeast ageing. In the mouth, there is a sense of finesse and delicacy. Pinot Noir fruit characters of red berry and ripe peach are on display, with some grapefruit in the background very fine acidity completes the picture, with length of flavour.

Forty individual base wines from eight regions in the four southern states were blended into this wine of wonderful complexity. It’s a nearly equal blend of chardonnay and pinot noir and offers alluring aromas of cherry, strawberry, brioche, spice, honey and freshly baked almond croissant. It tastes of red berries, lemon zest and pith along with gentle toasty notes. It’s creamy across the palate, with refreshing, chalky acid and an intense finish that builds and builds.
