Wine Summary Image

2023 saw a mild spring with adequate soil moisture, resulting in a slightly later season. A moderate summer led to ideal ripening conditions with little pressure in the vineyard and a lack of any major rain events during the

ripening season. Consistently warm days and cool evenings made for great retention of acid within the grapes, whilst achieving optimal fruit expression. Shiraz, Malbec & Grenache were destemmed and vinified separately as well as some whole bunch fermentation on select Shiraz parcels. Pumpovers and delestage were employed to extract fine tannin, colour and vibrant fruit characters. After 12-14 days, when fruit flavour and tannin extraction were optimal, the skins were pressed, and the wine fermented to dryness in tank. The wines were then racked to French oak barrels, 15% new, for 6-9 months before blending

The et al are malbec and grenache. This is a bright, juicy red full of flavour for easy-drinking appeal today; good value, too. A neat combo of red and blue fruits, woodsy spices, a touch of eucalyptus and dark chocolate. The mid-weighted palate is fresh with raspberry-like acidity, sweet fruit and textural tannins. The 2023 Single Vineyard Shiraz is sourced from an old vineyard in Wilyabrup and hails from the lovely long, mild, dry-until-the-end 2023 season. On the nose, this is jubilant, fresh and spicy, with raspberry, lifted cold tea notes, star anise and peppercorns. In the mouth, the wine is juicy, succulent and really quite delicious. This provides an excellent insight into the season and is a delicious iteration of Margaret River Shiraz. I tend to prefer these wines in their youth, although that may change as better sites and more appropriate clones are dedicated to Shiraz in the region in the future. 14% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.- Erin Larkin - 94 Points

The palate is generous and vibrant, loaded with juicy plum and black cherry character. Notes of black pepper and sweet spice add complexity. Tannins are fine and pervasive creating length and savoury texture
