The label is very shy, just says it’s generated from raw vineyard data. The fine print is almost too fine to read, but the wine is gorgeous: bigger than the Harewood Estate, with more (fine French) oak to balance the bigger stone fruit, wonderful tension, perfect pitch, it just glides over the tongue and you find yourself reaching for another sip.

Winery Tasting Notes

2018 was a warmer vintage for our generally cool climate, maritime Denmark sub region of Western Australia. This allowed us to chase a richer more textured style of Chardonnay as opposed to the deliberately leaner, more citrus style of the 2017 vintage. Burgundian versus Chablisienne. The free run juice was fermented in powerful French oak coopered in Burgundy introducing spicey, toasty complexity and rich creamy texture. Additionally, the wine was allowed to go through secondary malolactic fermentation further softening the wine and enhancing the rich savoury textures. Aromas of toasty oak and roasted cashews support rich nectarine fruit with hints of melon leading to a long grapefruit finish. This wine will improve with up to ten years careful cellaring.
