Head Start lures turn combine bait with a trolling bib and enable small fish to be trolled at speeds up to 7 knots. Baitfish like yellowtail, slimy mackerel and garfish can be quickly converted for trolling using the bait needle (supplied.) This produces a realistic swimming bait with the same scent predators are used to chasing. The bead chain is rated at 80 pound breaking strain making it strong enough for use on large fish like Spanish mackerel, kingfish, wahoo and even marlin. Full rigging instructions on the packet.

• ? Head Starts are supplied with a 16mm bead chain which passes internally through the bait’s body. Bead chains are much more flexible than wire, allowing the bait to swim naturally;
• ? The plastic snap-on head protects soft gills and eyes of the bait, preventing it from being washed out during fast trolling.Instructions (illustrated on packaging)
• ? The HEAD START is a two-piece unit with one piece (the head) having a flexible side, and the other piece (the insert) having a pin which goes through the eye of the bait, and a hole for retaining the beaded chain.
• ? Snap off the beak and insert rigging needle into anal opening and out of the mouth.
• ? Pull beaded chain through bait fish until hook is in desired position. Drop end through the hole in the insert.
• ? Push pin through eye of bait fish.
• ? Slide head back over insert until flexible side snaps over pin. Bait fish must move freely on the pin, and break the backbone for best action.
