This represents exceptional value for money for those who like generous cabernet sauvignon with an arsenal of natural grape tannins guiding the flavours. Black currant, bay leaf, cherry and plum aromas are inflected with a slight smudge of Clare Valley mint and bitter chocolate, yet the wine is pointed, medium-bodied, detailed, vibrant and long. There is nothing overtly drying about this. The level of extraction-six weeks on skins before 2 years in barriques-is perfectly tuned to the style. (Ned Goodwin).
