Godet is a family business, a renowned cognac producer based in La Rochelle, with roots dating back to 1782.About 200 years later, it was acquired by Grand Metropolitan, which merged with Guinness to for Diago. In the '90's, the family managed to buy out the company and now emphasises that it has been producing cognac since it was 15 years old. Genrations.
Osokye, the first single malt whisky from this distillery, is named after the farm int he Lorraine region where the family grows barley.Whisky is distilled in small steel alembic, usually used for distilling cognac, and bottled in small batches. The Osokye Series 5 presented here was finished in Moscatel barrels and totalled 7,700 bottles.
Aroma:
Soft, Vanilla, Toffee, Apples, Pears, Lemons, Cherries, Gingerbread, notes of cinnamon, oak and peat.
Taste:
Sweet, Mildly Peaty, Pears, Cherries, Candies lemon and orange peel, Vanilla, Honey, Allspice and Oak.
After Taste:
Medium Length, with notes of Summer Fruits, Honey, Vanilla, Cinnamon, Mocha and Light Green Onions in the backround.
