Campbeltown is one of Scotland's four recognised whisky-producing regions, and is situated on the mull of Kintyre some 240 km from Glasgow, south of Islay. Due to the exposed, coastal location of the town, Campbeltown whiskies have their own distinct character defined particularly by an oily, briny quality.
Tasting notes: Big butter menthol lozenge notes in the initial pass with the focus alternating to shortbread, toasted cereals and new leather with flashes of rubber in the subsequent inspections.This is salivating, chewy malt with a masculine, confident style; toasted cereals and mildly bittersweet dark chocolate flavours at the close fade into a salty, spicy surge that just keeps going.
