Sasanokawa distillery is based in Koriyama City, Fukushima Prefecture. The Yamazakura Distillery closed in 1998, after being merged into Sasanokowa. What`s in this bottle is Yamazakura whisky aged over 20 years, first in x-Bourbon barrels for 15 years and then tanks and finally back to barrels again to finish up - reportedly in both wine and bourbon casks.
Pure malt whiskey that blends malt, sherry barrel mature malt, and peed malt balanced in a balanced manner, aged in oak barrels. You can enjoy the rich taste of malt, soft fruit incense from Sherry barrel, sweet smooth mouth feel and moderate smoky flavor. (261974-29)
