Scalibor 3 Month Paralysis Tick Collar for Dogs is a plastic collar impregnated with Deltamethrin, a member of the synthetic pyrethroid class of insecticides and aracides. The Deltamethrin slowly releases from the collar for at least six months, and migrates over the body of the dog controlling paralysis ticks for up to 14 weeks and brown dog ticks for up to 26 weeks. The Scalibor Collar is a sustained-release control product. It exerts best effect for the control of the named ticks 2-3 weeks after application. The collar should therefore be applied 2-3 weeks before the dog is likely to be exposed to infestation. Use of the Scalibor collar may not prevent tick attachment, as ticks are not killed immediately. In paralysis tick areas, daily searching of the entire body of the dog and removal of any ticks is required with particular attention around the ears. DIRECTIONS FOR USE: DO NOT use on puppies less than 8 weeks of age. DO NOT use on dogs with skin lesions. DO NOT use on dogs known to be hypersensitive to pyrethroids. DO NOT use on cats.
