Log in to your My Grays account or register for a free account to bid in an online auction. When registering just enter your email address and create a password. You will then be directed to a second page to add extra details and complete your bidding account.

Search for the car you want via our CARS PAGE, or just enter keywords in the search box at the top of the page. Results will be presented on a search results page where you can refine by make, state, price, model or other criteria.

Knowledge is the key. Once you have identified the make and model of interest, research by checking photos and comparing prices online. Prior to bidding on what vehicle you want - set your price limit.

Read the Lot description in full because every car is different and the description will give you some insight into the specifications / details of the vehicle. If you would like to view a full report click on the “Added Services” tab.

We are available if you’d like speak to us in person about the vehicle you are considering. You can also view the vehicle anytime between Monday-Friday 8.30am – 4.30pm in our national car yards.

To view the vehicle location, look for the support contact on the lot page. Alternatively, you can book the vehicle in to be inspected by a 3rd party to obtain a full condition report.

On inspection day, you’ll have time to ask questions and remember to bring a valid driver’s license in order to obtain keys. Please note: vehicles can be started, but not driven, due to insurance reasons.

All vehicles are sold unencumbered, with any outstanding finance cleared by Grays and the relevant financier.

To start bidding, locate your chosen car whilst logged into My Grays. Bids can be placed in two ways: Standard Bid and Autobid

A) Standard Bid
To place a Standard bid, select a bid price from the drop down menu and click 'place bid'. As a general rule most bidders will select the next increment needed to win the item. Ensure the Standard bid button is highlighted, select the quantity of the item you want and the bid price you wish pay. Once you confirm your bid you will be shown a bid summary page.

B) Autobid
To use Autobid, select the maximum amount you're willing to pay for each item you are bidding on. Once you have confirmed a bid, you are committed to pay up to the maximum price you have bid for each item if you win. Grays Autobid system compares your bid to other bidders and increases your bid by increments up to your maximum bid amount if necessary to win the auction. If someone bids higher than your maximum amount, you will receive an email indicating that you have been outbid. You may then decide to increase your maximum amount. This can be done at any time before an auction ends.

Under $5,000
To ensure your car is ready for pick-up, payment is taken from the nominated payment method within 24 hours of the sale closing. We request that the funds be available at the time the sale closes to ensure this process can proceed as smoothly as possible.

Over $5,000
When your invoice amount is over $5,000 (multiple lots with a single sale will be consolidated under a single invoice) you will pay for the item(s) via direct deposit within 2 days of the auction closing. A member of the Grays team will contact you to arrange for payment.

Over $250,000
When an invoice is over $250,000 we will only charge customers a maximum of $5,000 as a deposit. The balance of your order is payable via direct deposit.

Once funds have cleared into the nominated Grays account, you can pick-up your vehicle. You will be sent the item's location information with pickup times; make sure you bring a copy of your winner’s e-mail/invoice and photo identification.

Please ensure you collect your car on the nominated day(s). For Interstate Buyers or 3rd Party collections you will have a one-week grace period from the date of purchase for pick up.

If you intend to send a third party to collect your goods, they will need a copy of your Winner’s E-mail and Signed Note of Authority permitting Grays staff to release your purchases to the third party.
