Vintage

Vintage 2019 was a somewhat compressed vintage. Annual rainfall was below average, except November and December which helped with setting up canopies for the hot dry summer ahead. The reliable, cooling southerly breezes most evenings during the summer and autumn ripening periods made the difference yet again, allowing good flavour development and excellent quality.

Winery Tasting Notes

Each Shiraz fruit parcel is kept separate throughout the winemaking process, and then they are carefully blended together by Ben Riggs and his team when the time is right. The Queenslander shows extremely lifted red fruits, as well as blackberries, and characters of blueberry jam. The wine has a long, soft and juicy palate and lush mouth feel. A very approachable and drinkable shiraz. It perfectly complements a medium rare steak whilst watching the rugby league footy finals.
