- Case Metal: 9ct Rose Gold
- Bracelet: Black Leather Band With Rose Rolled Gold Clasp And Hardware
- Movement: Manual Wind Movement
- Condition: In Great Condition Commensurate With Age. Signs Of Wear Present As Expected With Age. The Bracelet Appears Slightly Fragile With Evidence Of Past Repair To The Leather. This Watch Has Not Been Tested - Refer Images
History Of The Rolex Prima
- Prima seems to have been first used by Rolex in 1923. Prima simply means first, and this term was in common use before Rolex was founded.
- At some time Aegler started to mark higher quality movements supplied to Rolex with the word Prima, as in “Rolex - Prima”. The exact date when this began is not known, but from surviving watches it appears to have been in the 1920s.
- The first use registration of the word Prima by Hans Wilsdorf appears to have been in August 1923 as “Marconi Prima”. It would not have been possible to register the word Prima alone as it simply means first in several languages. Rather strangely, there appears to be no registration of “Rolex Prima”, which presumably would have been possible. However, registering Marconi Prima perhaps gave some protection against other watch manufacturers using the word Prima.
- Prima movements were the top of the range and were frequently fitted to watches with gold cases. As a result of this, many such movements were therefore lost as their original case was melted for bullion.

We accept the following methods of Payment:
Credit Card
- 1.2% surcharge applies to Mastercard & VISA transactions
- 0.7% surcharge applies to Debit card transactions
- 2.5% surcharge applies to American Express transactions
- No other cards are accepted
- Invoices totalling less than $10,000 will be automatically debited from the card nominated within your account
- Invoices totalling in excess of $10,000 can be paid in-person at any Grays office
PayPal
- 1.2% surcharge applies to PayPal transactions
- Only accepted for invoices totalling less than $10,000 where elected as your preferred payment method within your account
EFT (Direct Deposit)
- For invoices totalling in excess of $10,000. Payment must be made in full within two business days of the auction closing.
- Please ensure to state your invoice number as the payment reference and email proof of the remittance to accountsreceivable@grays.com.au
- As EFT transfers can take up to 2 business days to clear, please contact Grays prior to collecting your purchase to confirm receipt of clear funds
