Reference 116506 is the first platinum Daytona Rolex ever produced, introduced in 2013 for the model`s 50th anniversary and marking the point at which the Daytona was formally repositioned from racing chronograph to top-tier luxury object. The diamond-set dial sits at the apex of that reference.
Ice blue is used exclusively on Rolex platinum pieces and functions as the material`s signature across the room — here paired with baguette-cut diamond hour markers and the warm chestnut brown Cerachrom bezel, one of the most distinctive colour combinations Rolex has ever released.
In-house Calibre 4130 automatic chronograph with vertical clutch and column wheel, roughly 72 hours of power reserve, and Superlative Chronometer certification to -2/+2 seconds per day. Solid platinum caseback throughout, as on all 116506 production.
Excellent pre-owned condition: platinum case and bracelet with sharp lug geometry and no evidence of over-polishing, ceramic bezel unmarked, diamond markers intact and secure, bracelet stretch minimal, Oysterlock clasp locking cleanly.
Full set with original box and papers plus a certificate of authenticity, on a discontinued reference — the 116506 was replaced in 2023 and is no longer in production, which makes complete, well-preserved examples increasingly difficult to source.
