Mateus Rosé is a rosé pink with a very appealing and bright hue.

Aroma

On the whole, it is a fresh and seductive wine with fine and intense bouquet and all the joviality of young wines.

Palate

In the mouth, it is a well-balanced and tempting wine, brilliantly complemented by a soft and slightly fizzy finish.

Serving Food Suggestion

The bottle should be kept in a dry and cool place, sheltered from light.

Should be served chilled in a flute or in a tulip-shaped red-wine glass. Serve ideally between 6ºC-8ºC.

Mateus is ideal as an aperitif, to accompany a refreshing moment in the day.

Mateus also goes very well with light meals, several types of fish and seafood, white meat, grilled dishes and salads. Its unique characteristics make it also ideal with pasta and other Italian cuisine and to accompany magnificently several styles of Oriental cuisine – Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese and Thai.

The history of Mateus Rosé goes back to 1942, when Fernando van Zeller Guedes created and launched an entirely new concept – a wine of strong personality and unique taste presented in an unusual, innovative bottle.

The bottle was first inspired by the hip-flasks used by soldiers in the First World War, creating a shape that stood out in a crowd of tall bottles. The label, unusually elegant and innovative for the period, was an ode to its rich Portuguese background.

But inside the iconic bottle, there was a new kind of wine, something different – pink, refreshing, slightly sparkling and extremely versatile.

The real secret of our success lies in the passion of our winemakers. It’s this passion that created our newly released range of new varieties, making Mateus the perfect wine for any occasion.
