Winery Tasting Notes

Appearance

Deep ruby to near garnet hue, showing good depth and clarity — the visual suggests a full-bodied wine, rich in colour.

Nose

Generous aromas of blackberry, boysenberry and blackcurrant dominate, with lifted herbal accents of rosemary and fresh mint. The underlying vineyard-site minerality (shallow red clay loam over shattered limestone) gives a subtle stony or chalky edge to the bouquet.

Palate

The palate is fresh yet powerful: the fruit core (blackberry, blackcurrant, boysenberry) is vivid, enlivened by crisp acid and framed by fine but firm tannins. The structure is evident — this is not a soft or easy-going Cabernet, but one with backbone, good persistence and a sense of precision rather than over-extraction.
