The Castelli wines are produced from grapes sourced from the finest single vineyards throughout Western Australia's Great Southern region. Over the past decade, Castelli has established itself as a star of this cool climate winemaking area - consistently producing stunning examples of the region's hero varietals.

The 2024 Castelli Pemberton Chardonnay is another classy example of Great Southern Chardonnay. There is an array of aromatics of cumquat, grapefruit with some underlying toasted hazelnuts emanating from the glass. 100% barrel fermentation in French oak provides a lovely textural component and nuances of gunflint and creamy richness. The finely woven palate with a precise mineral core shows great length and focus and will suit cellaring over the next 8-10 years.

Made from grapes grown in the renowned Riesling region of Mt Barker and Frankland River, the 2024 Castelli The Sum Riesling is an approachable, vibrant example offering an abundance of lime and grapefruit flavours with impressive intensity and a clean, dry finish. Appearance

Pale straw colour with subtle green highlights at the rim, indicating freshness and a cool-climate origin.

Nose

The nose opens with ripe white-peach and nectarine fruit, interlaced with grapefruit freshness and delicate white-flower aromatics. Beneath the fruit you’ll notice roasted cashew / nutty oak tones and a touch of gun-flint or struck match/mineral character.

Palate

Medium-bodied and textured, the palate delivers stone fruit (peach/nectarine) with hints of pear and grapefruit, supported by fine French oak (some new, some older) which brings nutty/spicy oak nuances and creamy lees stirring. A taut minerality underpins the mid-palate and carries through to the finish.
