Wine Summary Image

This Pinot noir was fermented in small 1 tonne batches with twice daily plunging of the ”cap” formed by the gape skins. Maturation for 10 months in new and second fill French oak on yeast lees has introduced a creamy mid palate texture. In an effort to preserve the subtle complexities, this Pinot has been bottled unfined and unfiltered.

A bright, gleaming crimson hued Pinot from the Denmark region of Western Australia. Lovely, lifted aromas, there are notes of red cherries, spices, smoked meats, cinnamon and redcurrants with good oak integration on the nose. Fine tannins and good acidity, there is a lovely little flick of almond bitterness on the finish. Enjoy now and for the next six years.

A vibrant but light red in the glass, with aromatics of red cherry and more earthen like spice. The palate shows a wine that is varietally correct and saturated with red cherry fruit that builds with spice and a richness afforded by time in oak. Tannins are fine but have impact in terms of providing shape and contrast to the wines richer aspects. The finish sees black cherry and a dusting of spice. A lot to like here.

Winery Tasting Notes

Color: A clear crimson with youthful purple hues.

Palate: Bright red fruits combine with hints of darker plums and cherry with an earthy, gamey mid palate with hints of mushroom and a spicy finish of soft tannins.

Nose: A vibrant lifted nose of black cherry and strawberry complemented by spicy vanillin French oak.

This wine will improve with up to 10 years careful cellaring.
