Winemaking Notes:
Sourced from Estate and neighbouring vineyards in the village this is globally popular blend with a very Bethany feel. Parcels were kept separate and whole berry fermented with a variety of skin contact times (7-14 days) and twice daily pumpovers according to stage of fermentation. A small amount of whole bunches were used to add further complecity and aromatic interest. Maturation was for 12 months in a variety of new and seasoned oak as well as stainless steel. The final blend was put together in May 2021 prior to bottling.

91 Pts - Spicy, earthy, rich blackberry and blackcurrant, sage and dill perfume, maybe a little sappy oak too. Supple, blackberry and ripe raspberry, sooty tannin, but quite fresh, more of that sage and clove character, ample fruit of succulence and good carry. Solid honest come-hither Barossa goodness here. Also, has a distinct purpleness to it, which is nice. A bit of tar and richness. Good wine. Value. Gary Walsh - Wine Front.
Winery Tasting Notes
Colour: Bright purple red hue with good density and vibrancy.
Aroma: Vibrant, fresh and beguiling nose of purple florals and red fruits, a hint of french oak spice adds freshness and lift to the fruit
Palate: The palate has a strong Grenache dominance with spicy and earthy red fruits and aromatic interest holding sway, the supple darker fruits of the Shiraz add volume and weight while the Mataro brings through a fine blue fruited complexity and clear direction to the palate. Tannins are supple and generously structured and give length, age-ability and freshness to the finish.
